Yes we have a heating system to suit every type of boat. Our Air Heaters range from 2Kw to 9Kw and our Water Heaters range from 4Kw to 47Kw. As a general rule we would install our heaters as follows:
This is purely a guide as cabin volumes vary from boat to boat. The heater should be correctly specified against the actual volume of the cabins on your boat.
An Air Heating System is generally easier to install and heats a cold boat faster than a Water Heating System. However a Water Heating system not only heats the boat but also produces domestic hot water.
All of our heaters are very economical on power consumption. The power consumption figures are as follows:
| Airtop 2000 (12v) |
1.8 amps full load
0.75 amps partial load |
| Airtop 3500 (12v) |
3.0 amps full load
1.25 amps partial load |
| Airtop 5000 (12v) |
7.5 amps full load
1.25 amps partial load |
| Thermotop C (12v) |
3.5 amps full load
2.60 amps partial load |
| Thermo 90 (12v) |
6.9 amps full load
3.70 amps partial load |
Please be aware that the heater will only run on full load for a short period of time and once the boat has heated up the heater will reduce the heat output, therefore reducing the power consumption down to the levels of the partial load figures.
Webasto heaters are very fuel-efficient and use very little diesel. The fuel consumption figures are as follows:
Please be aware that the heater will only run on full load for a short period of time and once the boat has heated up the heater will reduce the heat output, therefore reducing the fuel consumption down to the levels of the partial load figures.
The Airtop range of heaters is supplied as standard with a rotary controller, which turns the heater on and off and gives fully variable control of the heat output of the heater. It is possible to upgrade to a digital timer which allows the user to programme on / off times for the heater. Webasto Water heaters come as standard with a very simple digital timer which allows the user to program three start times per day. Both systems can be upgraded by fitting Webasto Thermocall, which allows the user to control their Webasto heater via their telephone, ensuring you always receive a warm welcome when you open the cabin door.
As a general rule we recommend that a maximum of two outlets are installed on an Airtop 2000 system, up to four outlets on an Airtop 3500 system and up to 5 outlets on an Airtop 5000 system.
It is possible to install fan matrixes on a water heating system; this allows us to produce warm air in the cabins whilst still producing domestic hot water.
All Webasto heaters are under full guarantee for two years from date of installation. Webasto are active in 56 countries worldwide and have an extensive dealer network to fully support our products. For details of your nearest dealer please use the dealer locater found on our home page.
